When one of my Acura headlights suddenly stopped working, I didn’t think much of it. “Oh, I’ll get it replaced soon,” I told myself. I figured, well, I don’t drive around much at night, so where’s the harm? Besides, I’m too busy to attend to it right away. That Acura headlight was more important than I knew. I’m sorry to say I drove around during a heavy rain, during the early morning, and late evening. I even drove at night a couple times, telling myself “I’ll get it replaced tomorrow.” Luckily, a police officer pulled me over and gave me a stern warning. The next time I got pulled over, he assured me, I would be ticketed. That was enough to get me to replace the Acura head light. After all, the last thing I need is to pay a hefty fine. And of course, I knew I needed to replace it soon anyway.

When I told my brother, laughing, about getting pulled over by a police officer, he didn’t find it to be a trivial matter. “It’s really pretty reckless to drive without both headlights working,” he scolded. I was surprised because he isn’t usually the type to scold anyone. When I mentioned this, he explained that safety issues were a different matter. It turns out that when he was in college, my brother had a friend who got in a serious accident. It was on a one-lane highway, in a rural part of Minnesota. A tree had fallen over in a storm earlier that night, and someone had apparently dragged it off the road. Unfortunately, it had only been dragged to the shoulder of the road. My brother’s friend had his right headlight out, and the log was on the right side of the road. He saw the log alright, but not until it was too late. As he swerved on the slippery road, his car struck the log, and his car spun out of control. The car flew into the ditch, and crumpled up as it struck the ground. Luckily, he survived the crash and used his cell phone to call for help. Unfortunately, his leg was badly injured. He was also struck by some material on his dash and one eye was damaged. To this day, he walks with a cane and wears a corrective monocle over the damaged eye.

The story was enough to make me regret delaying in replacing my own Acura headlight. I told my brother I’d go to the mechanic first thing in the morning, but he advised me against it. “Just order a new one online,” he said with a shrug. “It’s a lot cheaper and easier.” My brother really knows his stuff when it comes to cars, so I followed his advice and tried it. To my surprise, the ordering process was extremely simple, and the delivery service was amazingly prompt. Ordering your Acura headlight online is certainly the way to go. I’ve had plenty of trouble in the past with mechanics. At least in my hometown, they can be pretty slow, and often put an absurd markup on the parts. What they charge for labor can be ridiculous as well. If you need to replace your Acura headlight, order one online. If you really need to, have your local mechanic install it, but consider trying it yourself. It really isn’t as difficult as you’d imagine, and it can be fun and interesting, too. If you don’t have a lot of faith in your ability to replace your Acura headlight, you might know somebody who has a knack for cars. And chances are, they’ll be happy to give you a hand. Especially since this particular job is quite fast and easy. Still not sure? Consult one of many how-to websites on the internet that carefully detail the entire process.
